I think officials need to be clear as to the difference between taking a firm stance, & being combative. Far too many times I see those two confused, and generally by the same people. If you are always involved in a some controversy with different athletes, then probably some introspection is in order. I also think the Officials Code of Ethics is incomplete. Its extremely mindful of proper behavior between officials, but I believe something about respect for the athletes should be included. The code should be amended to address the fundamental reason that we are out there in the first place.
