I think one of the most irritating things about the demands placed on women in regards to physical appearance, is the stereotypical complaint by some men that women spend too much money. And is that really surprising, though? When a womans worth is determined so much by how she looks is it so shocking that she spends more money on things such as clothing, cosmetics, and grooming essentials? And its not even that she is just expected to do such things, but that society really requires it. If a woman doesnt shave herself smooth (constantly) then she is not only lacking in femininity, but also dirty. It is not that I do not like being smooth, but I feel that it is very wrong that it is required of me. And its to such an extent that I think there isnt much appreciation for the result. Instead complaints about money spent and time spent in the bathroom are made later, which are as a result of the upkeep of such societal norms. You really cant win in that situation!
