I think people need to distinguish between cockiness and confidence. Cocky is, by definition, conceited or arrogant, especially in a bold or impudent way. If you think youre like the best thing that has hit Earth, I can assure you, youre wrong, and youre going to continuously be wrong if you have that mindset. Once youre cocky, you stop working and that expectation of always winning becomes obsolete. Take it from someone who has met many an arrogant person, confidence is being aware of your capabilities, while cockiness is pure ignorance.
