I think people should be allowed to own ANY kind of weapon they want; even a nuclear weapon. Its what they do with it that matters. I dont even agree with background checks. That should be between the buyer and the seller. The seller can decide, with the customers permission, to do a background check, otherwise, not sell the item if the customer refuses. Its the sellers responsibility to know their customers. If they sell to anyone, then, they are responsible for the item purchased. If seller sells carelessly, and the buyer uses the gun illegally, then society should pressure the seller to be more cautious. We are all responsible for each other; the government isnt responsible for us.
