I think society wages too much on money for measuring success. Why does the amount of paper in your pocket matter? Why cant it be the amount of joy you feel or the happiness you bring to others? Everyones forced into these roles that maybe they werent meant to fill. People fall into these patterns that are the same wake up get dressed eat brush teeth drive to work work drive home from work eat watch tv sleep. Repeat the next day. Life becomes just gray and lifeless. Some people get lucky and get a job that is changing. Some people may like routine but do they ever want more? Do they ever wonder what if? Do they ever just take the chance to blow off work and go to the beach and stare at the waves and wonder how it is the moon can pull at the water from so far away then push it back? Why does responsibility come before human curiosity? These hippy ideals are what keep me up at night. I dont want to be pushed into a roll where Im miserable. I want to carve out my own fit in the world. I want to make art and use my life for good and bring happiness to others not just survive by working at a job I hate to go home and not have enough time to see things that matter. 40 hours a week adds up quickly. Life shouldnt be measured by 40 hours a week. You lose so much time sitting at a desk. You can literally just see the grim reaper pulling grains of sand out of your life spans clock. Dont settle for meaningless paper that when it comes down to it wont save your life wont give you more time. Just go out and live. Once that paper is gone what really is there? We dont need money it was just something created by man instead of bartering when really do material objects actually have worth? More worth to experiences and memories? Why do we feel we need a fancy car to be successful or a big house? Some people find happiness in different ways though. And thats perfectly fine. Id much rather just sit and watch the waves though.
