I think that is a fair assessment. Its like the #FabFive, #GoBigBlue Michigan Wolverines. They were arguably THE MOST TALENTED starting five in NCAA history. But they lost two years in a row, to North Carolina and Duke teams that were arguably MORE SKILLED, but definitely BETTER TEAMS, and without a doubt, had BETTER COACHING. The majority of Black athletes, never really get the type of quality coaching and mentorship that would maximize their talents and abilities. Unfortunately, too many coaches never really coach and develop these young boys. Raise, Coach, Mentor, and Develop a guy like Michael Vick from childhood the same way that Peyton and Eli Manning were raised...and he would absolutely BLOW YOUR MIND. You gotta raise these boys in a different CULTURE that nurtures, hones, and maximizes their natural talents and abilities, and then we wouldnt even be having this discussion. Venus & Serena Williams were raised by a Father who focused on them and their skills the same way Archie Manning focused on his sons. The results speak for themselves. But these PRINCIPLES go beyond athletics, because Dr. Ben Carson had a mother who thought the same way. Everything is about CULTURE and MINDSET. ~ Unhyphenated America ftw.usatoday/2015/01/kobe-bryant-says-european-players-are-more-skilled-than-americans Continuing in his vein of rampant honesty, Kobe Bryant said Friday night that European basketball players are more skilled than American basketball players. From ESPN: “I just think European players are just way more skillful. They are just taught the game the right way at an early age. … They’re more skillful. It’s something we really have to fix. We really have to address that. We have to teach our kids to play the right way.” That’s a pretty strong take. What does Bryant believe is to blame for this supposed dearth of skilled players in American basketball? In a word, AAU Basketball. “AAU basketball. Horrible, terrible AAU basketball. It’s stupid. It doesn’t teach our kids how to play the game at all so you wind up having players that are big and they bring it up and they do all this fancy crap and they don’t know how to post. They don’t know the fundamentals of the game. It’s stupid.” Kobe Bryant was born in Philadelphia, but his father, former NBA player Joe Bryant, moved his family to Italy to continue his playing career, where they would live until his retirement in 1991. Kobe Bryant places a lot of stock in his European upbringing as far as the development of his game goes. When asked what would have been different had he never moved to Italy, he said, “I probably wouldn’t be able to dribble with my left and shoot with my left and have good footwork.” So, what country are Damian Lillard, John Wall, and Anthony Davis (to name a few) from?
