I think the Irish Fest weekend would be great since many people - TopicsExpress

I think the Irish Fest weekend would be great since many people plan to be home that weekend anyway. ODonaghues may not be the best place on the Friday for the meet and greet as it will be packed for Irish Fest. My suggestion would be to invite everyone to meet and greet at the Irish Festivals Friday night pub. The Irish Festival is being held in Downtown Chatham this year. Loggie Street and parts of Waterford Green will be blocked off and a huge stage being set up at one end of Loggie Drive. I was talking with Paddy Quinn (Irish Fest co-president this year) and he would offer returning grads a big discount on tickets for that night. Also, its Choppers band The Durty Nellies performing that night so it will be an awesome time. Paddy is extending the same deal to the 20 year JMH grads and the 30 year JMH grads who are also having their reunions that weekend. It would be neat to have so many JMH grads all in the same place. Then all three groups are invited to walk in the parade on Saturday from JMH to the Downtown (all downhill this year 😉) carrying banners showing the year they graduated. I believe on the Saturday afternoon there will be a family day in Elm park with fun stuff for kids and a BBQ so if we piggy backed on that it would mean a lot less headaches for us and no stress if the weather does not cooperate. They are trying to book Big Brothers/Big Sisters KidZone inflatables for the park. The kiddies would love it. These are just my suggestions as I know from being on past reunion committees how hard it is to plan and organize an event such as this. Using the events already taking place would result in a stress free weekend for all. 😊
