I think the biggest conspiracy to undermine our freedoms may inadvertently come from the conspiracy enthusiasts themselves. What greater ploy to take away our choice is there than to convince us that our choice is illusory to begin with and thus dissuade us from casting our votes? I mean the whole thing is a sham, right? If the results are predetermined, and our voice is to fall on unhearing ears, why speak at all? Instead let’s rattle our sabers at our invisible oppressors, and when grimacing at ghosts ultimately proves unsatisfying, turn our attention to those of our brethren with whom we disagree on the gear-work of this machine. All the while we squabble amongst ourselves, splitting hairs over the details of our opinions, whilst our increasing apathy of actions where it truly matters leaves a vacuum for those who actually do hold sway over policy to exploit. When every ship bears a false flag, how will we recognize the pirates?
