I think the further development of this product has potential in surgery. Imagine if patients from developing or war torn countries could be operated by robots controlled by surgeons from other countries. Perhaps it may even be possible for more than one surgeon to control the surgery in shifts and then there is a lower risk in contamination and infection especially in quarantined areas. Perhaps even in the future, we may even rid ourselves of the cumbersome interface of a human hand and replace it with more atomized, efficient and exact instruments of a much finer caliber to perform microsurgery previously impossible or to risky for human hands. Surgery could also be cheaper as the price and time of training new surgeons would decrease exponentially.
