I think the good ol boy mentality is definitely evident in Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlifes reluctance to make a decision on whether or not to file charges against the Turtle Man, even in light of his clear violations of both state and federal law. If anyone else had brought wild animals across state lines or committed any number of the multiple offenses Ernie Brown, Jr. had, charges would have already been filed. Our Department of Fish and Wildlife needs to set an example for the rest of us: be a department we can be proud of. I am proud to be a Kentuckian. Not so proud of our Department of Fish and Wildlife and all of its Public Relation Ethics Scandals involving our former commissioner and his people. And, now to know that apparently nothing is changing, it breaks my heart. I dedicate my life saving wildlife and fighting for wildlife conservation. It would be nice to know that the Department entrusted to do the same could find its way back to doing what its suppose to be doing, protecting wildlife.....not protecting a good ol boy network.
