I think the main message in The dead poet society I still recall - TopicsExpress

I think the main message in The dead poet society I still recall after not seeing in many years, would be the Latin phrase Carpe diem or seize the day. It strikes me as odd that a man that was the core figure in so many scenes with similar life lessons (what dreams may come also comes to mind) failed to channel any of that in the end. Ive always said however - Until you have taken the time to walk a mile in another persons shoes, dont presume you know what its like to be them or feel what they do. And in the end when mental illness stems from simply a lack of one chemical or perhaps too much of another, there really is no way to know what that person suffering with extreme depression was truly going through, minus having similar symptoms. Do we judge one with cancer for not having better genes? So therefore I will always withhold judgment on any human that passes in a similar fashion, leave that for God to decide. And I have a feeling any wise being would judge a human on their entire body of work minus a foolish action they may have committed when they were not in their normal state of mind. I know I am happy as my family is all that matters and more so that our boy has a happy long life. And all though I know nothing last forever and time is always the great equalizer, I wont take that for granite and cherish every day from here on out for the blessing it is.....
