I think the people that run the C.I.S. scheme,s in and around the Limerick Area should pick out 30 or 40 workers and raise their weekly allowance that they get on the scheme,s by 50 euros a week and place them on a clean up scheme in the St. Mary,s Park. Lee Estate, Assumpta Park, Abbey View, Athlunkard Villas, The Sand Mall and along the Island Bank from where the old swimming baths used tio be and right around to the Athlunkard Boat Club. The whole place is like BERUIT and need,s to be cleaned up immediately in case a diesese sets in. Also they should build a 5 foot wall all around from the last two places i mentioned maybe this might eleviate any further flooding in these Areas. also a lot of other places in Corbally need rectafying as well, Park Rd by St. Mary,s Girls School needs to be looked at as well. I heard on Joe Nash,s Live 95fm Programme that the local council was charging people for sandbags that is not true the person who was charging for these was Costelloe,s sand and gravel a disgrace to the name of Limerick City,he was exploiting this disaster for his own needs.
