I think the questions some people avoid are what led to the problems within our communities? Did our youth just voluntarily become street soldiers and gangsters? Did we just voluntarily become professionals? Where is the behavior coming from? Who modeled it? What is being modeled right now on television and radio? What do we support as a majority? Some frown at the negative behaviors but do we care to intervene and correct it? Or do we sit aside and judge it because we were taught the correct way? Some of our youth are reaching out. Some are working two jobs. Some are disappointed at their parents. Some dont have basic necessities. Some have been neglected. Often times, the streets are the only ones that show the youth any love. With that in mind, certain behaviors take place because something else is wrong and it just goes downhill from there without Intervention. Some of the same powers that be that profess to be advocates of peace turn the other cheek when peace and positivity takes place but openly welcome the negative models that impact our community daily.
