I think the rules of entering big races like ultra marathons should change. The closing dates must change. It should stipulate that runners first needs to qualify before entering. Lots of runners do not have excess to internet and dont have credit cards, so lots of people with this luxuries grab the entries within the few hours/days/weeks when opening then some of them cant even qualify then they re-sell their entries(at high prices) as substitutes to those who didnt make cut off date. In 2012 a guy was willing to pay up to R500(ridiculous) for the Two Oceans Half Marathon so desperate he was to run TOM. I know there are good runners that enter/qualify but cant run due to injuries/sick/other commitments etc. But there are those who just want to make a quick buck$ and that really p!$$€$ me off.
