I think the trouble with leadership is one mind decides a course, - TopicsExpress

I think the trouble with leadership is one mind decides a course, then everyone else should follow. I dont think thats what we need, and its something Obama manifestly doesnt have ~ and its true we wouldnt have been subjected to such an umseemly pantomime in Moscow or Beijing. Its frustrating when it seems he can hardly inch over the wheel of the juggernaut, but I guess he came to the job aware of the ways of the white man. It may be the Antarctic century. The IPCC in its sea level rise forecast ~ 26 - 82 cm ~ for the century ahead allowed only for thermal expansion and accelerated ice melting. They do not understand so could not model so did not calculate for ~ that s their explanation ~ structural collapse of massive ice sheets on steep sloping land slithering into the sea. It wont have to melt. The sea will rise, first in the form of a massive wave. They didnt headline it, but they are thinking about it. A bit theyte looking at very closely at the moment ~ theres lot of polar Ice to look at, equivalent to 80 metres of sea level rise, and it all formed when the atmospheric carbon level was way lower than now ~ is the Pine Island Glacier in west Antarctica, only because of what has recently happened there, not because they (we ?) have much clue where it will happen next. A big crack in the sea ice shelf first seen in October the year before last calved away a huge iceberg this July, and a satellite ~ German, apparently, whatever that means ~ was there to see it. In the pitch black Antarctic winter night. Maybe its about reality vs ideology. 70% of global capital is invested at sea level, so the scenario of a structural collapse of a chunk of the Ice although pretty basic ~ we know about massive structures, someone showed us ~ is unthinkable. If thinkable ~ or when ~ it is not a national problem. True, Moscow and Beijing are two places on Earth immune from the direct effects of a sea level rise ... History has been a rough passage for our fractured human family, but it seems to me something driving us since before we left Africa was always going to get us here by any means necessary, so we may as well use it now ~ the century of awakening global consciousness ? Self-acceptance ? In the meantime I wouldnt write off the two most ridiculous most diverse cultures on Earth, of the USA and these islands, because there will be a market in the 21st century for creativity. The problem on everyones mind is that the cost of our creativity is having leaky borders.
