I think we all totally agree that there should be some critical introspection into what took place not only in eventually in Brazil but also in Ghana, Holland and Miami too. The three-man Committee has their work cut out. Personally, I don’t think 30 days will be sufficient or has this timeline also been upgraded by virtue of the announced upgrade of the Committee of Inquiry to a Presidential Committee of Inquiry? It is not clear if any thought has been given to the need for extended timelines. So it is now going to be televised on GTV; something that will drastically reduce the ability of this station to generate revenue throughout the entire period of this live broadcast. Something that the Government will have no choice but to subsidize or foot the entire projected bill. It is likely this will generate more consternation against Government because of the deep cutting austerity measure in place at the moment fostering in its wake more public debate, civil discontent and protest. However, I get the feeling that this will have us glued to GTV as we were during the days of the Election Petition. What is important is that we get to the truth of the matter and that lessons from this sorry episode in our life are well understood so that they will never be repeated. I think the characters central to what took place in Brazil, Holland and Miami are the footballers themselves. And so any attempt to hold a Presidential Inquiry without their participation will be a non-starter! Of course by now they are all involved in pre season training and their season is just about to commence too. But we will have to ensure that for all those that cannot attend in person they will be interviewed over Skype and or even Face Time for as long as it takes to unravel the truth. I look forward to hearing what the likes of Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari, Andre Ayew, Adam Kwarasey and Kevin Prince Boateng will have to say in particular and I sincerely hope that the questions will be comprehensive and probing enough to solicit for all of us to be able to determine fact from fiction. Without these main characters any inquiry into the matter is a complete waste of time and precious resources.
