I think what I am going to say now would be like a big scientific discovery for a lot of people. Five years of my life I worked in travel agency, and of that time half of the years I was booking air tickets. Many people think that Travel Agencies book tickets via expedia or other companies like that. ABSOLUTELY NOT! To be able and have access to air tickets booking , I needed to pay and get 3 different courses, around 6 weeks all together in special booking systems like Amadeus and Galileo. This is a special global software in which you have to learn to work, as absolutely every command in the system is written in codes and you have to memories thousands of codes for each requests. In the system you can see everything: all special prices for infants, kids, pensioners, all special offers, which normally are not applied on tickets purchased from web-sites as there is a special way of issuing these types of tickets. It is a myth that you can buy from internet cheaper. A lot of IATA licensed travel agents have special agreements with air companies and can do things and little favors which you can never get booking from web-site. I am just a little bit surprised finding out that a lot of people think that booking a ticket in travel agency and booking online is the same.
