I think what people dont realize is how much of our paycheck - TopicsExpress

I think what people dont realize is how much of our paycheck actually hits the wallets of the government. You start off with a large chunk you never see go straight to them. Then you pay property taxes on the things you own. Everything you buy is taxed to sell things. The people selling you shit get taxed that tax is payed by the money you just gave them. It doesnt stop there. Before you ever purchased said product there were other taxes on it. Raw materials. Initial extraction of materials from the earth. All taxed. Transporting it requires more property, more materials and fuels to make and run the transport vessel. All taxed. Property where said product is manufactured, taxed. All these taxes just jack up the final cost of the product which then increases its value this making it subject to higher tax. This is perpetual. Every single product you see goes through this cycle. Then if you wish to export these products you pay more tax. Its easy to see why large companies import more than domestic production. It has a lot less to do with higher American wages, though that does factor in, but it avoids a large portion of all these taxes building up. Also we wouldnt need to make as much if we werent all being taxed out our eyeballs on every single thing we consume.
