I think when people talk about the spiritual ideal of not having - TopicsExpress

I think when people talk about the spiritual ideal of not having attachments.. they dont understand the full weight of this being fully unattached and disconected ..maybe they do, but.. In my opinion not having attachments is about not attaching yourself to perceptions or beliefs so you only see what is. I see a lot of people teaching this non-attachment ideal but its seems to be about disconnecting yourself from all things. How can you not be attached to everything when you are part of everything and made from everything. From the perception of a non seperate view point (everything is connected) this just seems ridiculous to think you should completely disconnect yourself... doesnt that kind of defeat the point of spirituality and evolving in this reality? But then again reality is what you make it. Is there such thing as a false perception or belief/right perception or belief? If we look at things we can see that any one thing can be seen in multiple ways, but maybe not necessarily said all at once but we can see the multiple connections in our minds. I can see how something is negative but can have a positive outcome and vice versa. Any person can you there mind to see that everything can connect in one way or another and cycles around. So why do we have all these constructs and division of what is and isnt? Instead why dont we just continually explore these possibilities and flow without these attachments to these beliefs that keep us from evolving to the next thing and so on. Why do we need this feeling of stability and assuredness? Why are we so threatened by change?
