I thought I copy something they do over at the FB site Lovecraft Eternal (which often has some great CAS related stuff/conversations) and start posting regularly weekly Smith quotes (Thanks Starry and Thomas for the idea) and, hopefully, these wil help us get a better overall view of/insight into the Artist/human of flesh and blood Clark Ashton Smith :) It has often been speculated upon why his so-called suddened stopage of writing short stories...here is Clark in his own words: ...it is hardly true that I was forced to discontinue writing fiction, since there has been no time when my tales were not in request among editors and readers. The chief reason was my own growing disgust with pulp fantasy and with the restrictions imposed upon writers. (letter to Samuel J. Sackett, July 11, 1950)
