I thought I would take a video of my power solution. The engine is an 8 horse I paid $75 for and the alternator is from eBay at $70. The engine idles under average load at 1690 rpm,pulls down 2 1660 at full load and floats up to idle at 1800 with no load. It will deliver a maximum power of 2 kilowatts at just under 20 apps. I have run it for about 11 hours and have put a little more than one and a half gallons of gas in it. As the truck is the primary source of power and the generator only recharges batteries I only have to run the generator for about 30 minutes every 3 to 4 hours to keep the batteries in the truck fault.
