I thought I’d write a couple of blogs for you to show you how I came to painting a few of my scene’s over the years that were eventually turned into successful limited edition prints. Around 10 years ago I had the privilege of living in a small cottage in Longhorsley in Northumberland. It was a magical place to be and I would be able to go for long walks into the countryside to help the creative process otherwise known as skiving or bunking off. Living next door to me was a lovely couple Clive and Pattie. Clive was an avid biker and had a wonderful array of motorbikes, but tucked away within his collection was an old Norton with an attached sidecar. I had my models at the time John and Bobbie who were coming over for a photo shoot and Clive just happened to be working on the old Norton at the same time so I took this photo of the two of them posing. I said that I’d keep the same number plate on the painting to show that it was Clive’s bike and gave him a copy of the print when it eventually was released. I called it “The Great Escape” If you would like a print of this image go to alexandermillar I think I might have one copy left.
