I thought about this today, and I`m just writing this off the cuff so bear with me. Let me answer the more pressing question first. Is Edward Snowden, "the NSA whistleblower", a traitor or a hero? He`s a TRAITOR. I say this because there`s more involved then what they are telling us on the surface. First think about the NSA which involves the CIA and the FBI. When President Bush set up the Patriot Act after 9/11 I supported it whole-heartedly while liberals hated it. We were at war with terror and I supported anything that was counter-terrorism. It made a lot of sense to me. Snowden just exposed the "overreaching" aspect of it as of 2013, and there was a lot more liberal outrage over this than conservative outrage but this is not surprising given the liberal opposition over The Patriot Act. This is just conjecture, but the NSA doesn`t hire the most intelligent (Snowden never finished High School), but they do expect loyalty above all else. I suspect they do their hiring based on political affiliation and life-style. I doubt if many liberals get hired, after all the liberal`s bible is the "Orwellian book, "1984". I also doubt they hire any libertarians who want no government intrusion in their lives at all, and this to libertarians this is the soul of government intrusion. Just listen to Glen Beck`s fiery statement, "This is no longer America as we know it!". For me it is not overreaching. There are terror cells in the United States even as we speak. So yes, Edward Snowden is un-American. He has exposed more about the NSA than I want to hear about. You show me a country that protects privacy and I`ll show you a country at the mercy of terrorism. For a country doing it`s best to fight terrorism, the NSA should expect more loyalty from it`s employees.
