I thought it would be a good idea to register for self assessment online. So I manage to navigate through HMRC website and get them to send me an activation code which arrived today in the post (quaint). When I try to activate the activation code there is a message to say this wont be possible as I am using an Apple computer! What? So now Her Majestys tax collectors will have to have the tea stained, scribbled on, and somewhat dog eared original paper version I had already filled in. Paypal could teach them a thing or two. Why is anything to do with the Government so inept and clunky? It is not through lack of funds. Oh and to make matters worse, I ring up the helpline and am told my call may take longer to answer due to industrial action. Industrial non action more like...tut tut.
