I thought the debate over GMO foods had to do with trying to make it mandatory for corporations who are doing their best (and spending millions) to hide the truth (that they use GMOs in their products) and NOT to make it impossible for/STOP those who wish it to voluntarily label their products as containing or not containing GMOs. Are global corporations really so afraid of a few natural food producers labeling their products honestly that they have to pull stunts like this??? And if so we must ask why? Seems they have said they are fully aware that if people knew their products contained GMOs they would not buy them!!! What does that tell you? Perhaps they should learn a lesson and try honesty themselves, instead! If a product is certified as Verified GMO-free by bodies like Non-GMO Project the product has been tested before the approval process, regardless of our government, FDA and Global corps with presence in Canada hope you will think from the statement below. We are perfectly well aware in Canada what constitutes a GMO - whether from the 90% of patents held by Monsanto, or the 10% held by other corporations, including the GMO salmon and GMO apple.
