I thought you all might want to know about Beth Robertson. She and Suzanne have made a huge impact to the needlework industry with their books. she will be missed. ELIZABETH ANN ROBERTSON (Age 60) Beth Of Alexandria, Virginia, formerly of Locust Valley, New York, on September 1, 2014 after a brief illness. Daughter of the late James and Agnes Robertson. Beloved wife of Bruce Hoskins. Cherished stepmother of Kari Barerra (Manuel) and loving Tuma of Greyson, Gavin, Maggie, Oscar and Annabella. Dearest sister of Janet Robertson. Also survived by many relatives and friends. After graduating from American University and working for many years in the fields of broadcasting and communications, including several years at MCI, Inc. where she distinguished herself directing new systems implementation and marketing, Beth focused on her life-long love of needlework. Alone, and in partnership with others, she established several businesses, co-authored eight books, produced charted designs, painted canvases, and stitch guides, taught classes, and earned an esteemed position in the world of needlework arts. In recent years, she became interested in dog competition, traveling with her dogs, Rudie and Rayne, to flyball tournaments and agility events in Virginia and surrounding areas. She was proud of the many ribbons they had earned. Her strong leadership, quiet determination, dry wit, and love of life will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her. A memorial service for Beth will be held on September 27 at 3 p.m. at Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home, 1500 W. Braddock Road, Alexandria, VA, 22302 with a gathering of family and friends from 2:30 p.m. until the time of service.
