I threw my name in the hat for City Council Dist 2 vacant seat even though I had been told that it was a fore drawn conclusion cause the fix was in . I tried because I believe working class non-professional people have a responsibility and right to govern, not just vote for those deemed as their betters. I gave a speech Weds, evening addressing Mayor Ivy and some Council People, on non representation of working class by the qualified elite that get chosen to represent City Government . The problem is local elected officials represent themselves and people from their status. All segments of society have a Right to govern . How can a Giraffe see the needs of the turtle ? Professional people geared to make Million Dollar decisions can`t see the needs of a low wage earner holding down two jobs to make ends meet. It takes a person from that sphere to understand those needs and govern with that in mind.One segment of society making the decision for all other segments of society is an unbalanced approach of governance. My point of view and I shared it.
