I took Green Tara Initiation about 30 years ago. I didnt mean to; its a long story. However, I do remember when given the Green Tara mantra Rinpoche told us that it was never to be told to anybody not initiated, nor was it to be said aloud unless by oneself or with other initiates. I see this mantra plastered all over Facebook, all the time. Although Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentses instructions are for Vajrayana students they are just as applicable to other traditions. Don’t confuse Buddhism with non-Buddhist ideas: No matter how inspired you might be of rainbows, crystals and orbs, and how convinced you are about the end of the world, try not to mix your own fantasies/idiosyncracies with Buddhism.
