I took a stroll tonight to observe the North Shore March Against Police Brutality. There were 50 or so marchers, mostly younger and I assume students, with a few older characters that may have been faculty, and of course my good friend the Reverend Jeffrey Snell. They stopped at he bus stop on Washington Street in front of Tavern In The Square for about ten minutes. At one point they all laid down, but not in the street, sort of alongside it. The Salem Police escort did a good job of keeping them out of the actual traffic lanes. As a result of that, traffic was disrupted in the square, but not actually obstructed. They ended on Artists Artists Row-Salem MA with a few words, a prayer and one final chant. No harm was done, they made their point, and whether you agree with them or not doesnt matter. The first amendment rules like it or not.
