I took my first paycheck in a while to US Bank, and presented it to the teller. I dont have an account there, so they charged me $5 to cash a check written by their account holder. Question: Is a check a contract? Is it a legal document? If the writer promised me $X why does the bank get to spontaneously change that amount to $X-5? Wells Fargo pulled the EXACT SAME crap on me twenty years ago and guess what? It did not encourage me to do business with them ever again.
