I took my friend KIM Hedge the Vice President of Every Child Fed - TopicsExpress

I took my friend KIM Hedge the Vice President of Every Child Fed organisation responsible of managing malnourished children to kulu clinic about twenty kilometers from my village to visit the under five clinic that day. Surprisingly she was disappointed to find that health workers were not indicating the status of a child despite lower weight indicating malnutrition.I asked the male nurse we found why that was not indicated he also expressed shock and said he had just reported to the health centre which was managed by a CDE since 2006. I was shocked because the same CDE attended to me when I took my nephew who had a very high temperature and was almost convulsing. My cousin referred to her as the NURSE and truthfully her handling was professional and with all the care I have not witnessed in most of our clinics, my ka nephew was treated and responded to treatment well.HAAAA I couldnt believe it and was filled with fear because I now knew she was not a trained nurse and was liable to error which could lead to death however she seemed guided by the almighty god who watches over us and provides for our needs. We toured the health centre , has a male ward and a female ward which is shared with children, women and new mothers. The clinic has no running water but has about ten deliveries per week with two beds in the labour ward. There is no electricity they use candles or cellphone torches and ordinary torches when assisting women to deliver. The batteries they use for lights are finished sorry I was so touched that I forgot to ask the amount of the batteries they use to provide light for the centre. I have delivered six times and I imagine delivering without running water and electricity.(the amount of blood on the delivery bed maweee needs running water and disinfectants) Remember that they again need to store medicines in the refrigerators and the question is where do they store medicines. Worse when they have a serious patient, a referral is made to Kalabo and during flooding they use a canoe which takes twelve hours she narrated a story of a woman who was bleeding excessively after delivery and was referred to kalabo via a hired canoe dont ask me if she survived its god knows Can we appeal to govt and world vision (dont ask me why )maybe to assist this community with solar panels,a well , and a modern boat which can save as an ambulance during floods and even an ambulance during summer check my pics from right the CDE, male nurse and KIM checking the under five clinic, labour ward and a female ward
