I took my mom out for her 1st coupon trip today. Long story short, was in the ER last night and given 3 prescriptions to fill today (plus a 4th previous prescription.) Worried that they were going to cost a lot, she asked me if I knew how to get a deal. So I took her to Meijer today. She got: 4 prescriptions filled, 2 boxes of gauze pads, 5 rolls of gauze (needed for her health issue), 10 cans of soup, 4 boxes of cereal, 1 2 liter of sprite, 1 20oz Mt Dew, an outfit for my niece, a box of crackers, and 7 candy bars. She paid $11.01 out of pocket and still has 2x coupons for $20 dollars off her next purchase. She may have even earned further awards for shopping, I cant check yet. So basically, she got paid $38.93 (or more) to go shopping with me. Im happy to say, she is now a believer in the power of coupons! The funny part is, she turned around and handed me the 2x $20 coupons and told me to use them for groceries for her. It feels good to help family!
