I took my mom to Brunch at the 100th Bomb Group to celebrate her - TopicsExpress

I took my mom to Brunch at the 100th Bomb Group to celebrate her 50th birthday today. The server was friendly and hospitable and the food was great but something happened thats still bothering me: I ventured past the private party room to use the bathroom I was directed toward. When I made my way back, I grabbed a plate to load it with food. Considering it was conveniently near our table and the spread consisted of the exact same offerings located elsewhere, it never crossed my mind I was out of bounds. I was. A beyond rude, condescending shitheel approached and informed me, in the most haughty and acrid manner, That food is for the private party. So... He trained his eyes on me with the same disapproving look one might give a pet who has done something that is trifling, a discretion that warrants shaming but doesnt elicit scorn from the master, because, after all, you are just an animal and arent worth getting upset over. Another Party Down-esque turd then approached me and shamed me further, snatching the plate of food right out of my hand. I felt violated, embarrassed and downright humiliated. I wanted to say something to defend myself, but this whole encounter took me by such surprise, I was literally left speechless. I tend not to stick up for myself because Im socially anxious and have low self-esteem. I managed to make a complaint to the manager, but I could tell he probably thought I was just trying to get something for free. The truth is, I had an awful experience and Ill never be going there again.
