I took the steps before the fall to protect and shield every one of you all. I ask no thanks ill give no grief your free to believe what you believe. I just ask you stop today and think of my brothers lost along the way. It isnt very often that i put thoughts on here. But this is what came to mind as i sit here for just a moment to reflect on the losses sustained that day and the known and unknown losses we have taken since. Id like to think that i speak for every veteran in saying that it is not the sacrifice that scares us nor the loss of our own lives, but even the mere thought that we were unable to protect those around us in those critical moments that truly scares each and every defender of this great nation. That we were not able to bring everyone home or shake their hands when you get back. To not be able to Drink that ice cold beer and hear the clank of the bottles. Or even to just sit in quiet next to brothers in arms to reflect knowing you are thinking the same things without saying a word. To all my brothers in arms take a moment and just respond with if nothing else the name of someone close that you lost. To those who havent served id ask of you only that during your daily routine during your busy schedule to stop a veteran and shake his hand, Say thank you, or if thats asking to much take a moment silence because my brothers willingly accepted an eternal silence in return for your continued freedoms.
