I took this from a friend. This is how bad Republicans have gotten in Texas. On Thursday our Democratic Party Chairman was assaulted at the party headquarters. He reported t police that he had been assaulted by an unknown man. The chairman was checking early voting numbers at the office when a man entered. The assailant picked up a stake for a yard sign and swung it at the chairmans head while yelling that he had been warned. The chair was able to partially block the attack with his left arm. The blow broke the chairs watch and ended up hitting him in the forehead. The chair reported getting in a decent punch in making the culprit drop the stake and running out of the building. The chair gave a description of the assailant Security measures at the headquarters were being re-evaluated, and neighborhood canvassers and other volunteers were being notified to be on the alert. Previously there had been threats to the chair. He was approached by a well-dressed man who offered him money to drop a complaint he had filed with the district attorney against the Republican party related to a pizza giveaway at a local university during early voting. He was offered money ( in the one thousands) to back out as party chair and if he didnt that he would be sorry. On Friday a report of the bribe and threat was reported with the Texas Attorney Generals office requesting an investigation. All of this information is in the front page of our local newspaper.
