I tried reading up about Swach Bharat Abhiyan, since this is PM Modis first public action in order to improve the quality of life in India. People, especially celebrities and politicians, have been giving it a thumbs up. So here is my view. ITS A POT OF SHIT. He is sending us all back to II nd grade. Its not a policy. Its not even a programme and it has cost the government nothing to initiate it. The publicity stunt has earned them goodwill because its a good cause. SBA asks people to devote 2 hours of their week to cleanliness in their locality(THATS IT). Its a weak and meaningless effort to clean India. SBA should have been a directive to local government bodies asking them to redirect funds provided to them in improving the cleanliness of their jurisdiction. Initiatives should have been created for those who exercised public cleanliness. Bazars with proper waste disposal plan should have been given some kind of incentive to encourage others to join in. Restaurant owners or food stall owners who do not have proper waste disposal units should have been penalised. Oh come on, is it that difficult.
