I truly love my family and am so lucky for my sister, our husbands, the babies, our parents, and all of our extended chosen family.... One of the things I have yearned for my whole life is a wonderful, loving, huge extended family with oodles of cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents, second cousins three times removed, their fourth cousins, pets, children running around...you get the point... Oh, to share, celebrate, share recipes and stories with while creating memory after memory... So delightful! My own uncle, his wife and another cousin decided to take us to court over land my father owned in Turkey less than three months after he passed. I cannot for the life of me understand why or how people do things like this. How can money mean more than people and love?? Were they just waiting like vultures until he passed?? We found this out today while we were handling some business at the Turkish Consulate. Perhaps a phone call to see how my dad was when he fell ill, or to check up on their nieces and sister-in-law would have been the appropriate gesture of kindness instead of silence followed by court documents. I can only pray for the Universe to guide me through this one, and to take care of their souls too... For those of you who have cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents close to you.. Please call them, cherish them and love them a little extra for me. Have that extra piece of pie, laugh endlessly and bask in the beauty that is true family. You are truly blessed and I hope you are always held in the embrace of their love. I know that Ill be loving my chosen family that much harder...
