I trust everyone will keep in mind that the book, Creating Texas: A Brief History of the Revolution, isn’t solely mine, but was in fact a joint effort. Originally, Rod Timanus’ name would have appeared before mine, since the idea for the book itself and for our collaboration on it was his. The main reason my name was placed first in authorship also originated with Rod: he told me that since I had done let’s say a bit more legwork (*) than he in securing a commercial publisher, he felt my name should appear first, and so changed his cover-design in that respect. If this says only one thing, it would be that he’s a better man than I am, any way we look at it. Diogenes lived much too soon. (*) and considering how long it took me to find a publisher like Lauric Press, that’s why I can’t walk quite as well, as long, and as far as I used to….
