I try, I REALLY do. But sometimes people just push you to your limits when you work in retail. So the other day I had the service counter window closed as it is supposed to be through our (unpaid) lunch break, which I have worked through all but two days since Oct 1. Its the only time you get a stretch of time to do all the required computer reports. As usual, a customer knocks on the door ignoring the posted closed for lunch signs. And as usual, in my perfect (ok not perfect) do-goody customer service style I got up from the desk, opened the door, and asked politely, Can I help you? The lady said I just need two stamps. I said, I can do that, but you do realize were closed? (Which I do as a gentle reminder in hopes theres not a next time). Her answer, Oh I just figured you closed the window for security. REALLY!?! I mean REALLY?! Why yes I did close it for security, BECAUSE WHEN WE CLOSE FOR LUNCH WE GENERALLY DONT LIKE BEING ROBBED OR HAVE PEOPLES MAIL STOLEN/TAMPERED WITH! (I didnt say ANY of that but I SOOO wanted to!) LOL I truly laughed out loud afterwards, worst fib/guess ever!
