I try not to be too political on here anymore, but I couldnt help myself. I watched a documentary called The House I Live In and this segment sums a lot of it up in a shorter period of time. Ive done some reading on my won, but not enough... If you arent familiar with mandatory minimums and the inherent brokenness in our prison/penal/judicial system, it is worth brushing up on. I often wonder who the least of these are, and I think we do a great job of lumping incarcerated felons into that category and forgetting about them. While we are a large nation, the fact that we have imprisoned over 2,000,000 people is astonishing. The problem wont be fixed. EVER. It is not politically convenient, so it will take a mighty action for change to happen. I hope we can.
