I try not to judge, I really do, but I have to say, I think this is the best way to handle it when someone comes into your life that does not like your dog. Seriously though, remember, owning a dog is a lifetime choice as is getting married and procreating, at least it is still a choice as of today, so if you choose to take a cat or dog into your life you owe it to them to care for them for theirs. That does not mean that there are not situations when re-homing a dog or cat is the best option for you and your family, in fact, it might be the best option for your pet, but it does mean you owe it to your pet to make responsible, thoughtful choices for their care and future and that never includes Craigs List OR surrendering to a kill shelter. There are options folks including dropping the girlfriend/boyfriend :)
