I try to make it a point to thank Veterans every time I have the opportunity. I have many friends and family that have served and I appreciate you all. One particular story that touched me was a long time friend, who asked me to do a maternity session before her husband left to fight over seas. I remember doing the math in my head, he wouldnt set eyes on his son until he was 8 months old. And she would basically be a single mother of two children, while worrying every day about her husbands safety. I knew it would be unprofessional to cry, but it was my first instinct. How completely selfless this entire family is. And why? So my family can continue to enjoy our every day freedoms. It was a real eye opener and I will always be grateful to those who fight for our country, and for their families that must struggle with their loved ones being gone.
