I try to stay positive in a world full of hate. I too often stay - TopicsExpress

I try to stay positive in a world full of hate. I too often stay quiet in the face of ignorance, even though I know I should fight against it. Today, I cannot stay quiet. 131 children were murdered yesterday in cold blood. Gunned down in their school as they studied. It was a Taliban attack, but this goes further than ideology, beyond religion or race. This is a crime without reason nor justification. A crime against all of humanity. I cannot imagine the depths of sorrow their community is facing. The loss, the hate, the fear, the emptiness. I rise to blind rage as these thoughts swirl in mind. What have we become? What have we allowed to pass that has led our entire species to madness? What can we do to stand against these atrocities that have become so commonplace in our world? Surely we are aware? Surely we know in our hearts we must take action? I realize Im speaking into a wall of noise, and that my words here will become another thing to scroll past. I dont want this to be shared, or to go viral or what ever nonsense we hold in high regard these days. I just want us to open our eyes, to look up and away from the neon distractions, and perhaps for a brief moment think beyond ourselves and to something greater. So that we may become something greater. Today, and forever more I promise to Stand against hate. Stand against fear. Stand against injustice. Stand together in love, in peace and in forgiveness. To stand against the noise, and to hope for us to once again hear the signal that might bring us all home.
