I typed the #empowerment in an Instagram post yesterday, and as soon as I pressed enter, my heart sunk. I found my reaction fascinating, as Im all for women being empowered. So, I started thinking. . . Women have more power than weve ever had in the history of womanhood, and YET, we are more overwhelmed, stressed and frustrated than ever. Its made me question whether our goal of empowerment is actually what we want. OR, do we need more self-love, acceptance, kindness and learning to trust our inner voices. Do we need to lighten up a bit? Has all this power disconnected us from our feminine hearts? Are we using empowerment as an excuse not to sleep at night, take care of our bodies and home? To go bigger, harder and faster to try to prove were worthy of power? Have we turned, what was supposed to be empowering, into a disempowerment? I dont have the answer to this one. So, please feel free to chime in?
