I typically do not do a lot of posting on FB. But wanted to bring everyone up to date on my father. We brought Dad into ER on the 23rd. with severe confusion. While in the ER he had a an intense but not real long seizure. This occurred after all blood work was negative and his CT scan showed two small unknown areas on his visual cortex. Due to seizure activity he was admitted. What we didnt know at that time was that Dad was having seizures almost continuously. His level of confusion continued to increase and he became very agitated. It was clear that he no longer recognized my Mom or I. My Sister flew in from FT. Myers. We continued to just get negative findings on multiple test: EEG, MRI, lumbar puncture and blood work. Finally on Friday out of desperation another EEG was done and immediately a seizure was captured and several more followed. Decision made to move him to a room with continuous videoing and EEG. He was also started on intense seizure meds. He has now been seizure free for over 15 hours but remains basically non responsive except to intense pain (large blood draws cause some movement). Neurologist know that seizure activity in same part of brain as the mystery spots. When he is seizure free for about 24 to 48 hours they will try new MRI. he was moving during first so feel that it was inconclusive. Dad will be pleased that he has stumped the Medical Field. But I am ready for him to wake up and Gloat over his success! Appreciate the prayers and thoughts we have been getting. Trust me it is felt. Now go hug your loved ones. Blessings.
