I understand that Britain has given the police the authority to confiscate the passports of would-be ISIS recruits. Should we institute a similar policy? I see ISIS fighters and supporters tearing up and burning their passports. Clearly, they are with the Islamic State. I think thats where they belong. We will be much better off, allowing these folks to leave and join their posse in Iraq and Syria rather than insisting that they stay home. Let em go. Just keep their passports. Issue them a temporary travel document that gives them a one way trip to glory. Lets get em all together inside a fence in the desert, surrounded by folks intent on keeping them there. Live and let live... allow the disease to fully declare itself... and think carefully about how to handle it. There are interviews of Taliban commanders, who find ISIS is just the thing for a good Muslim kid. They are declaring for ISIS and pledging to bring down the western government that we have installed in Kabul. Surprised? You shouldnt be. This stuff is happening all over North Africa - and other places, too. Its been festering for a while, and there are many causes, several of which can be laid at our doorstep, or not too far away. Take fishing, for example. We got all the fish close to Somalia already. People who used to be able to make a living cant. Small wonder that thugs can get hold of power. Its how kings are made. Post Saddam Iraq aint so different. This is a time for all sides to pull together and get it done. It isnt a military problem and these guys cant be bombed out of existence. They have a fierce sales campaign going on, driven by very astute marketing and politics, run by highly competent leadership that is dead serious. They have top of the line weaponry, courtesy of yer Unkle, they know how to use it, and they are very well led. This is serious. These guys ARE the guys George Bush was looking for. Now that weve found them, what do we do?
