I understand that the President should visit delegates and diplomats from other countries and even Presidents. I understand this is an important part of his job. And meeting with the Pope at Vatican City is no different. EXCEPT people get the idea that this means Catholicism will have a greater reach in our country and that is just plain out wrong. They do in fact share similar ideologies referring to the poor, but only at a political level. It is important to note this distinction.
