I understand that this is a sentiment shared by many of you. I simply dont share it because I dont care. But when we share such sentiments publicly, openly, through media channels accessed globally by many others, it can affect our collective image, so Ill talk about it here. When we openly whine and complain about the lack of romantic reciprocity from our male counterparts to these global channels--in my honest opinion--it makes us look desperate and low in self-esteem. [Note: this is the opinion of a FBWO admin] If these sentiments are aired among our black woman Facebook friends or black woman-centered blogs [for example], thats a little different. We are talking to each other. But to whine and cry why dont you want us openly to everyone leaves us open for disrespect, ridicule and exploitation. If I truly cared about this lack of romantic reciprocity from my male counterpart, Id lament in exclusive spaces and show apathy in more open spaces. In the comments, I will post a link to a whiny article published in the Huffington Post of all places. Its friggin annoying. I dont see Asian-American men doing this openly and publicly given that 40% of first generation Asian-American women are interracially paired. They keep their complaints in-house because there is nothing the public can do for them. Why cant black women learn the same lesson? There is nothing the public can do for you for your search for a good black man. They are only using it to boost site clicks and advertiser dollars. Your thoughts?
