I understand that three Union Pacific Railroad employees and a Renzenberger van driver were injured today near Herington when a second vehicle crossed the center line and nearly struck the van head-on. The van driver apparently was able to swerve in time to avoid a full head-on collision. The occupants of the van were taken to hospitals but their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. The driver of the vehicle causing the mishap fled on foot but was later captured with the aid of a couple of specially-trained K-9s. He was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
