I understand the need to reduce subsidization of fuel, because if you look at countries without fuel subsidies, the rates are shocking. But if you really wanna trim the fat, lets just take a gander at everything else first. Because fuel price increase tends to have an unwarranted knock-on effect (thats a rant for another time) on everything else. The RMAF currently maintains 5 passenger/regional jets for VIP transport, unless youre the PM/DPM, ride the damn National Carrier, that youve left to die. Or use charter services. Or better yet, share the damn BBJ. Having 5 jets purports that we are a well to-do nation, increasing fuel prices proves that we are not. Lest it starts up, this is not a politically charged post, and I have NO INTENTION OF LETTING IT BE one. I have no preferences to either side. IMHO the opposition are just as capable of doing the same mistakes.
